Yes I have made it home. Sorry it has taken so long to write. I have been thinking about you all and I am so thankful for all your payers.

I have to say that I love OMF. They take such great care of all of their missionaries short term and long term. In the beginning I was not sure why we had to do a weeks orientation before we even started. Now I know, You enter slowly and then when you leave you have to leave slowly. While I was there I was so comfortable. Of course the heat was something to be desired but you know you can't have everything!

Yes this is a long time coming. I feel like a bad missionary cuz I have not done an update until now. This blog was started on the 6th but am now finishing it on the 26th. Twenty days is not too bad :(

I am trying to take one day at a time. I have started reading the book "Dead Women Walking". It is such a good book so far.

I am looking forward to doing a movie with all my pics. When I get it done I will see if I can put it on here so that You all can see the pics. They say so much :)

Well I am going to get off now and publish this so that I can start another one about something else that is going on.

Sorry it has been so long :) I wanted to do one everyday but God knows that that here there is just not enough time in the day.

Where to begin.....Okay so the last post I posted I talked about the Fu-Ming Community Center. What a way to get our feet wet in the culture and the kids. God really showed us the wonderful hospitality that these people have. There heart is soo big. One of the ladies Sophia gave me some spring tea candy. Uhh it was so wonderful

The women there did not want me to leave. One of them wanted to come home with me so that she could practice her English. I told her that I would love to come next year Lord willing of course.

One of the biggest challenges, of course, was the language. We took a taxi every morning to the center. It was very hard to communicate to the taxi drivers where we needed to go. We did alot of hand signals and laughed alot! One of the most memorable taxi rides was when the taxi driver started singing to us! It was great :)

I have a greater appreciation for teachers now. We had to prepare our lessons ourselves for class. That is something I have never done before. We spent a couple days preparing games and English lessons. We had a lot of fun coming up with games that the kids could learn English and have fun at the same time.

The weather has taken some time to get used to. When I first got here the humidity was just unbearable. I was not used to sweating all day everyday. I sweat in places that I did not know you could sweat :) I have now just understood that I am going to be sweaty and sticky and that is just part of life here. It gets up to like 98 or so everyday, with the humidity it is like 104 to 110. Every house has an air conditioner in every room! The air conditioning has helped keep it bearable inside. I have now become used to the humidity and am wondering how my body is going to acclimate when I get home.

We walk pretty much everywhere we go so I know that I am getting my exercise:) It is such a nice place to be. The people here are so very friendly and they take the fact that we are foreigners with compassion and they really help us learn the language.

One of the things here I really enjoy is the night markets. They are so wonderful and oh the smells of food. I have found that food here is not what it seems, and they eat EVERY part of the animal....cartridge, feet, ankles everything!!!!! I think the thing that I learned the most about the food is to always taste it before you say you want some and .............DON'T ask what it is .

We have been teaching at the Fuming Community center for the last couple of days and it has been really nice. It is good to see that kids are kids no matter where you are in the world!

They are alot of fun. It is so hard to see some of the girls that come in with sca
rs on their legs either from bug bites or burns. It just breaks my heart!

I got to help yesterday with the grades 3 and 4. That group seems to be growing by leaps and bounds. They are picking up English quite easily.

It has been nice a group of students have dedicated their time to come and help translate English to Chinese, as none of us really know enough Chinese yet to know what these kids are saying.

The gentleman at the bottom in the green shirt is actually from the neighborhood. The neighborhood is the poorest of the poor and it is so hard to get out. It is like people don't want to come to this part of the city to help the people that need it so there is never really a chance to get out and possibly have a better life.

Today I had the chance to sit down and help some of the mothers and help them with some of their conversational English. It was very hard for me to leave. Just one day with them and I have grown so fond of each of them. We have decided that we are going to do a trade, they teach me Chinese and I will teach them English.

I know that it is going to be VERY hard for me to leave here. I know that one day I will return :)

Day One Two and Three in Taipei Tawain

The last couple of days have been very interesting. It is very strange to go to a different country where you don't speak the language. The first day was pretty much just getting acclimated and getting some sleep. The plane that I flew in was the biggest plane that I have ever seen, and the most comfortable!!! The flight was a little bumpy but hey nothing in life goes too smoothly!!!!

Day two was A LOT of walking around and spending time outside in the culture. We are praying for rain!!! IT IS SOOO HUMID here uhhh I have never felt anything like it at all :) I have sent a link out with Day one and Day two's pictures. Uh it is so amazing here. I found it to be a littlechallenging because I don't know how to speak Chinese but I am learning :)

Day three (today) was the most moving and it totally has made me stand firm in the fact that THERE IS Spiritual Warfare.... it is very real... I have saw a side that most do not see. We went to a very famous temple Longshan Temple in Wanhua and it is just amazing the things that people will do and how much money they will spend to please their gods. Walking in there you can feel the spiritual heaviness.

We also got to visit the church that is started there called The Spring and oh what a name. It is located in a dark alley that is known for prostitution and homelessness and to top it all off............a single woman has been praying for these people and has been serving these people for 2 years. It has been a very emotional night! I will forever be changed by seeing what I have saw today. The people here are tied up in such a spiritual darkness it just breaks my heart.

Alot of what I see is just so hard to put into words. I mean the people that I saw sitting outside of The Spring, they were older gentleman that were homeless, some were so skinny that you could see their bones it is kind of like they were discarded like garbage, like they have nothing to offer anyone. The women here that work in the "tea houses" are women that are trying to get way from abusive husbands or who have been kicked out of their homes. They have no education and the only job they can get is prostitution. The age range is like 40 to 50 years old. it just breaks my heart that these woman have to turn to such self demeaning ways to support themselves. I am so glad that God had touched someone to serve them. A question keeps turning over and over in my mind...... if God called me to serve here with these people would I?????better yet could I?????

I know that this is just the beginning of what God has in store. I can't wait to see the children in the church camp and the community center where we are going to go and hang. It is a lot to process so I am sure that I will be writing more in the future.

Okay so I am not even sure if anyone reads this but hmmmm I really don't care cuz they are missing out on a damn good blog!!!

So the last time I blogged I was on my way to Denver for my training. My training was sooo awesome!!! The organization that I am going with is so awesome!!! They invest so much time in making sure that you are so prepared!!! Talking about culture shock and how you are going to feel and things that you should expect to feel and see happen.

Well I leave for my trip on Monday!!! I so can't believe it!!!! The fund raising part I have to say is the most stressful. The people I thought would be so excited and willing to help have not even talked to me about it and those who don't even know me are bending over backwards to bless me.

Two weeks before my trip I only had $900 raised. That was not including anything that I had in my savings (which is not much!) I was really concerned that I was not going to get to go. Now.............. I don't know how much money I have because it is coming so fast that I can't keep track of it!!!

That is soo God's way. I am so excited that I can't believe that I am going :) I am going to confirm my flight here in just a few minutes (cuz I can't believe that I am going).

God had really been showing me things and I am afraid because I know that I am going to come back a different person! Who that person is going to be I don't know and that is what scares me the most.

Yes it has been a long time since I have blogged but things have pretty much remained the same. I have been working on my missions letter (I sent via email 5/23/08) It has been a long time in the making. Shelley one of my dearest friends was so sweet to put up with my ramblings and help me put it all together. She is such a God send and such an awesome friend.

Why am I am crazy????? Well many of my friends don't even need to ask! I am currently sitting in the airport in Portland Oregon and it is 5:11AM! I had to have been crazy to think that anyone can function this early in the morning and get this I have ALREADY been up for 2 HOURS!!! I am on my way to my training in Denver! I am so excited!

This is going to be an interesting. I am hoping on a plane and going to a city where I don't know anyone and am going to learn more about my trip to Taiwan.

Fund raising is going well for my trip. I already have 1,500 raised and the total amount I need is 2,800. I did send out my letter yesterday via email to all of those who I knew have email and would read it. I will be sending out in snail mail next week and also handing out letters to people in my church next Sunday.

Well that is all for now. I will write more when I get to the HUGE city of Denver!

Okay it is official I am on my way to Taiwan! I am so excited. I have now started the process of raising funds for my trip.

I have to go to Colorado on Labor Day Weekend! I am excited about that! I just have to get there and get home they take care of everything else.

I have started building my prayer team! God is so awesome =) I have so many people that are going to be praying for me.

I am feeling anxious because I don't like flying over water and I have thing with Islands so I am ALREADY heavily leaning on God for his grace and he peace. I have had one anxiety attack this week =)

Yes it has been awhile since I have blogged here but there has not been much happening on the home from of missions :) I have been working with Dr. Carey who is the Medical Doctor for OMF International.

I had my phone interview today with Mike Bell. It was really awesome to talk with him everything seems to be going smoothly. I will be going for training on Memorial Day weekend. We did have plans to go camping up in Washington but Tom and James can go while I am in Colorado.

I did find out this afternoon that I have been cleared medically to go :)

Slow……and…….steady……..on…….we…………go!

Yep that is how we win the race. As a great friend of mine said like a constant drip slow and steady… wears away even the hardest stone.

I was given the Word from above. I have filled out an application for Taiwan. It is through OMF International . Here are two of the trips that I am interested in. The top one is the one that I am praying the hardest for :)

Serve Taiwan Wanhua International Team

Along with a group of local believers, OMF is currently building up a team in Wanhua (萬華區) to reach the families who live in this poorer working class neighborhood. OMF has planted a church called 'The Spring' which reaches out to the street people in Wanhua. You will be joining a the OMF team to build relationships with at-risk youth and their parents and share stories about your experiences with the God of love and how Jesus has changed your life. You will lead activities for 60 students at an elementary school and teach basic English conversation classes in near by low income housing estate. When not teaching, you will have time to hang-out with these kids and teenagers by playing sports and other activities.

Go and see how God is opening up doors to minister to North Koreans. The purpose of each trip is two-fold. One is to provide English to Korean-Chinese students. Two is to pray through the area and to explore current opportunities in China.

Serve China NE China Vision Trip (6 weeks)

Each team's work will help in establishing relationships for work in China as well as North Korea. This trip will encourage participants to consider long-term involvement in serving, supporting, and praying for the work in North East China and North Korea. Your ministry will provide in continuing the ongoing relationship with local workers and/or organizations.

You will be teaching classes in NE China to Korean-Chinese students with differing levels of competency in English. By building relationships with the students, you will be able to see the Northeast Chinese culture up close. You will also be able to visit different ministries in China.

Well I am still praying and pushing forward with my prayers to go to Africa! It has been so hard waiting. Waiting for God to say yes… this is the right one! I have a couple more leads. I received an email from a gentleman named Steve Bissell who is in Nigeria with IZERE PROJECT. We have exchanged several emails and this look like it could become a really good thing. It is such an awesome way for people to hear the Word in their native heart language. I am also still looking at Launch Out ministries as well.

James turned 12 on Friday!!!! Oh my goodness it is just hard to believe he is getting that old! It seems like it was just yesterday that he was learning how to walk and talk! Well it is late so I will sign off and talk more later J

Missions update....................

Well......just when I thought things were going well just when I thought I had figured out what God was wanting me to and thinking it was going to be smooth sailing.....God decided to shut that door, and I am now opening other doors to see what is behind each door.

Mission Ventures decided that I could not serve with them because of a theological difference. Some gifts of the Holy Spirit are not acceptable. To me that is something that still boggles my mind! I have also had some contact from Sim. I am not sure if I will qualify for them either because my husband does not have a heart for missions and they will not send anyone married out on a trip without their spouse. Also, I have been divorced (before Christian and he divorced me!) and it was Biblical. I have to write a letter explaining. I just did not know that it was all that hard to find a place to serve.

I am in the process of filling out two applications to see where God wants me to be. One is for Launch Out Ministries and one for Lemis. Both cost so I am not sure if I should pay for both. The first one is $50 and the other one is $100. Both of them require the approval of my pastor which is not a worry for me at all.

So yeah I am not sure what God has in store but yeah I am just opening the doors and seeing what is around the corner.

Oh I heard some really good news today! One of my favorite people ever is running for public office!! Rick Dancer is running for Secretary of State for the State of Oregon! Finally someone in office who could make a difference and is not in it for HIM.... He for sure has my vote!!!!

Yep He has done it again! It seems like everyday! oh man!!! So yeah I got an email today from NWCC letting me know that he was going to be canceling our appointment because he has to meet with a minister that is coming in from Africa. I have been invited to go and listen to him and you will never believe that it happens to be at the same time as my lunch!!! Yeah hmmm

We bummed into someone the other day when my husband and I were at Kmart that we had not seen for 3 years. It is someone that he used to work with... and guess where his homeland is....AFRICA...I just can't wait to see what he is going to bring tomorrow.

Man I am telling you it has been a VERY revealing week. I don't have time to write much now but I am going to just put the high points and then come back this weekend and expound on what is going on!

Yesterday I talked with JJ Harding and we are going to interview on Monday at 11 (my lunch). I am a little nervous but the doors are just opening left and right.

Tom has been supportive of my non-stop talking about this trip. He went to the OSU Library and got me a book on Customs in Mozambique.

I also got an email from North West Christian College and the campus pastor had lead a 21 person group last year to Mozambique. We are going to get together some time next week and talk. Man do I have ALOT of questions.

I got a call on the way home today that there are three ladies that want to talk with me when I can get their numbers to call them. There is also a lady that has been a missionary in Mozambique and she is here on furlough. They will be having a brown bag lunch so that we can hear her talk! It is all coming together!

It is so awesome to be in God's will and just giving myself to him has been awesome!

I have been doing some research and this what my trip will consist of:

Purpose:
Jesus understood that spiritual need does not exist in a bubble. Jesus met people on their level. He showed compassion. He cared for physical needs in addition to spiritual needs. He understood His culture, and he worked to change it from the inside out. His heart broke for those in need.

As Christians, we are called to be like Christ.

Mozambique is one of the 10 poorest countries in the world, with 90% unemployment. Ancestor worship and animistic religions are the prevalent belief systems. In addition, it also is ravaged by AIDS, commonly viewed as the leprosy of our generation.

In Mozambique, we will intentionally research the following topics:

- Disease (visits to hospitals, cemetery, orphanages)

- Spiritual darkness (visit to a service from another religion, conduct street interviews, possibly attend a funeral, etc)

- Poverty (tour residential dump, arranged home stays)

Then we will respond:

- We will spend numerous days working in an AIDS orphanage

- We will run a VBS, engage in or lead church services, bible studies, and conduct prayer walks

- We will help build a home, dig a well, or plant fields for the severely underprivileged in Maputo

The goal of this trip is to learn how to love like Jesus in a culture in need, when that culture is different from your own. In order to change a world for Christ, we need to understand the culture first. Treat this as a vision trip for future ministry in Mozambique.

Your heart will break in Mozambique, and that is good. Brokenness leads to action, and God desires action.

Uhh I can't wait. I am trying to do some research now and today at church I got a couple good leads! God is opening doors one by one!

January went out with a bang!!

Well January has ended with a bang. I what chatting with a friend of mine online the other day and was telling him my heart felt desire to go on a missions trip. I had told him that I would love to go to Kenya but because of the war that is going on right now my family is saying no. So then I had told him that I would also like to go to Mozambique. As I was telling him this I got an email from MissionVentures telling me that they had two people drop out of their Mozambique trip and that he would like me to go through their process. Oh my goodness I was so excited and I still am! I can't wait to see what God is going to do with this! Tom has been gone do a Men's retreat for church and he is having a great time. He has been gone for about three days and it seems like a lifetime! I can't wait for him to come home!!!

I have contacted the African Students association at the University of Oregon in hopes that I can volunteer or work with their group. I am just so hungry to learn about the African culture!

Wow what a wonderful weekend!!! Very eventful! I went to a missions conference called Northwest Connection. It was such an amazing time! Luis Palau was one of the many amazing speakers. My mind right now is going in a million different directions and I am still listening very intently to find out what is going to happen. I will write more in the next couple of days as to what I learned and where my hearts passion is and the questions that I have.

Wow it this is the second blog in January I am already doing better then last year. Well I have really been contemplating where I want this blog to go. I want to keep it personal yet relational (hopefully that makes sense) Any suggestions are always greatly appreciated. Bear with me, just like life, this is under construction!!!

Well I got my passport this week! I am so darn excited I can't stand it. I want to go to Africa so that I can love on children and woman that have been abandoned by AIDS. I also would love to go to third world countries and help them write business plans so that they can get some type of funding. First things first, I want to go on a missions trip this summer so I am going to go to Missions Connextions in Tualatin this next weekend. The keynote speakers are going to be great and it will give me a chance to see what is out there and what groups are going where. Now I am just praying for direction :)

I am also very sad our new cat has come up missing. We adopted Rainbow about 2 or three weeks ago. She was a little skittish around the dogs so we kept her upstairs. and brought her down a couple times to try and get her acclimated to the house. We came home from Eugene last night and she was no where to be found. It is kind of funny the things that used to irritate me, like her waking us up in the middle of the night because she wanted to have some love, I now miss and it has only been a night. How long do you wait before you decide that you want to get another cat? We want to get one to keep the freeloaders (mice) away!

Well I must be off to lala land :) Another amazing week at work ahead and I need my rest to be ready! More later!!!!

Happy 2008!!!! I hope that your New Years Eve was a great one and safe one! It is so nice to spend the holiday with people you care about! I had such a good couple of days leading up to New Years!

The day before New Years Eve my husband and I went up to the snow with our friend Rick.
He had his son Preston and we took our little Saturn and stuffed it full of fun! Rick is having a hard time right now and I think it was a really nice break for him and his son.

New Years Eve was nice. We adopted a cat from the Heartland Humane Society. Her name is Rainbow Brite and she is an awesome cat!!!

We had the vet come over and check her out and make sure that everything is okay. We are so blessed to have her. From what the humane society says she has been there for the last 6 months.

She has not ventured downstairs much but as the days warmer and the dogs can go outside I am sure that she will venture down stairs more and become even more part of the family.

We spent New Years Eve with Tawnia and her family it was really nice! It was a nice chance to get out and relax. We played video games and dice until like 2:30 in the morning. Tom actually got to come but had to go home because he had to work in the morning. He eventually came back and got us and we camped and Tawnia's until late Tuesday night.

It was soo hard to go to work on Wednesday :(

Well this weekend I will be posting personal and family goals.. it is something new that we are trying this year. We want to see if we feel more proactive :)

I have thought about blogging many times... but uhh life just gets so darn busy. December is always a busy month any way but I had an Aunt pass away and it just threw us all for a loop. I found out that my Aunt Kathy passed away on Thursday and I was on a plane to Utah on Friday. It was so sad. I have never met my aunt but I did get to meet family members that I have not seen before. A majority of them live in Salt Lake City (no they are not Mormon!!) and I found out that I have a cousin in Sumner Washington :) He is just as crazy as the rest of us!!! Even though the visit was for a death in the family I had a great time. I met my sister and mom at the airport the Friday we flew in. It was kind of nice because I had not seen her or my sister for about six months. Man I really do miss them so much! My mom is the one behind me (on the right side on the end) and my sister, Michelle, is on my my left. Shawna is right next to Michelle (Aunt Kathy's Daughter), Ray is sitting right beside Shawna, Timmy is standing in the background (with tequila in his hand can sure tell he is family!!!) and Brenda (Ray's wife) is on the left end of the the table. Yes all the beer bottles are empty!!!

My sister, Shawna and I went and got our pictures taken and then gave them to Uncle Kenny and my Mom for Christmas! It was such a great surprise and the look on her face was priceless. My sister is to my left and Shawna is on my right. Shawna is such a kick in the pants!!! You can tell she is family => She is spunky, strong and very independent. She has a heart of gold.

CJ is doing good with his ADHD. I am thinking that they need to up his meds just a little bit more but other then that it is well. His dad is taking him more consistently that really helps.

Work is going well. Things have really calmed down and seems to be working themselves out. My boss would like me to work on our company blog and be in charge of our customer care blog. I am kind of nervous about it but I am excited all at the same time. I should be getting my cost of living raise :) I can't wait! It is only 5% but meh better then nothing.

I haven't been taking my Byetta as I should but I am starting back on it again. I can see a difference even by just taking it one time a day.

Well that is all for now.. I know that I will be writing more as there are all of a sudden about a million things happening and I just want to get them all in.

Wow!!! It has been awhile since I last wrote....Yes I am still alive and I owe this writing to my friend Angie.... she is so sweet and she is always very gently reminding me that I need to get back to it.
A lot has happened so I don't know where to begin. Let's see...things at work are going a lot better! I have a new boss and not only is he an awesome man but he is VERY easy on the eyes :)
He is so great at giving praise went needed and just being there for you to just shoot the shit ;) He is not caught up in the political BS of things. This week on Friday we are having a company bowling party and and I am kind of excited. My team mates are people that I don't work with directly so it is going to be a blast to get to know them in a different light.

My son who has ADHD is going to bed easier (praise God!). I thing though that he has a sleeping disorder. He is always tired. I have been doing some research and I am finding that is pretty common. I am going to talk with his doctor to see how we can detect it and how we can make sure that he gets the rest he needs so that he is not so damn cranky all the time.

I have started to sell PartyLite and I LOVE IT!!! This month I made $300 and the people have been calling me to have parties LOL. It is nice I did not have to pay anything at all out of my pocket to start so it is nice to have something that gives me some`some extra money and I get to meet new people too. It think that is the best thing I like about it. I have the best team leader ever she is so supportive and so nice. I hope I can be as knowledgeable and nice ;) At first when I started this I was just wanting to do two or so parties a month but it has been working out to about four or five parties a month. It is nice because I spent about 10 a week and that is not even every week there are weeks that I don't do anything and still get paid LOL. It is nice to because I have gotten to meet people in Portland, I would like to go more to Salem.

My husband and I are doing better. We are able to communicate better and just work better together.

I am still doing the byetta thing. Not as often as I forget to give my self a shot sometimes but overall doing much better health wise. The doc has upped my Paxil due to my frequent anxiety attacks. It is weird how they happened quite a bit at work and now they are starting to lessen not that the bitches are not being as bitchy.

I have found a really awesome blog Rick Dancer . He is a local news anchor for Kezi.
He has such a heart for people it is so amazing.

Wondering,...just a bunch of random thoughts

So I have been wondering... How do you find people to read what you have to write? I know that you have to say something interesting. Don't you ever really just want to be heard? Just to have someone say wow... I really liked what you said about that.. or even hate mail would be good to at this point LOL.

So how do you create readership? How do you get people to read what you have to say? Do you just put key words randomly throughout the blog like gambling, casinos, gaming? Or do you but romantic quotes in there? I am not too sure. I would just love to know who reads it.

I love writing. I find it a great release, a way to get rid of a lot of my anxiety.

Yeah, and it has been an anxiety filled week so I should be doing a lot of writing.

I am going to get another tattoo. I started out the year with none and could end up with 4 or 5 before the year is out. My friend Tawnia and I are going to get Chinese symbols that say "Only the Stong Survive" Tattooed on our ankle. I am not sure if I can do that though I know it is going to hurt more then the other two so...she is going to keep me from being a chicken and bailing out!

I also found out today what an Angel Investor was. I would love to find someone like that to invest in my business I would love to do. I would love to be able to be an Angel Investor some day. I have almost finished my business plan and then I think I may just take a step or two out into the small business world and see if I can make a go of it.

So my randomness just keeps going....... I have decided that I am going to be a Partylite consultant!!!! I love candles and feel like I can be a good sales person. The awesome thing is... the product sells itself..I just have to tell them about it!!!!

Well that is all the randomness I can do right now. I am sure that I will write more later :)

Bedtime Horrors!!!!!!!

I have an 11 year old son that has been diagnosed with ADHD. The Doctor has put him on Concerta and just upped his dosage to 36 mg. Things used to be so easy about getting him to bed. I mean we had our moments but over all it is and was the same routine every night. It starts at 9:00. We start give him the warning that he needs to go and get ready for bed. So he will go in his room and get his pajamas on and then come out of his room with his jammies on and a robe. Then it is okay go in and go to the bathroom and then brush your teeth, By then it is 9:30 and he says his good nights. NOW he will start bushing back the second we say it is time for bed.... no it is not time for bed it is not 9:30 yet... i still have 30 minutes. Tonight I was not even home when he went to bed. He had to get up come out and get mad becasue he had to go to bead earlier tonight because he did not get to bed until 10 last night. UHHHHHH this is so horrible!!!! he starts yelling and fighting .... and I just dread this part of the night......

Does anyone have any advice? I have thougth about the bath thing but just getting him in a shower itself is like bulling teeth. Is this normal???

PLEASE HELP!!!!

It has been a crazy week.....

Wow it has really been crazy since the last time I blogged. Well lets see where to I begin............

Well since I have blogged last I am still trying to get used to my Byetta medication. I went from the 5 pen to the 10 pen. I did not think there would be that much of a difference but ohh man!!! I do feel better about life and I know that I have lost more weight. I have also been alot more nauseous :( I am doing some trial and error things and I think I figured it out... I am not eating any carbohydrates at all for breakfast and that is when I feel the most sick. I took my blood sugar after eating a hard boiled egg and some carrots and found my blood sugar to be 114...so it was LOW... that is why I am feeling sick. So I had some rice crackers and felt great!!!

My son went and saw his Dr. and they are going to be treating him for ADD and/or ADHD. The Dr. put my son on Concerta. He has been on it for about two weeks and there is little change. We will be going back to the Dr. next week and my suspicion is that he will up the dose and see how Bubba does. He is still bouncing off the walls and not able to carry on a full conversation with out skipping around. It has been a really long road and I am glad that we are finally getting things under control. We have tried diet and we have tried behavior modifications and the Dr really wants to get him to be proactive, be able to function and be productive for Middle School in September. The Dr. did do some blood work to check his blood sugar and his tyroid (because he is gaining weight quickly). It was the first time he had ever had to have his blood drawn :( He was more of a trooper then I was.

I am actually trying to take a down week to just kind of mellow out a little bit. I have been feeling really bad that I have not been able to spend much time with the family and I am trying to look at my week and see what days I can protect and be family time and what other days where I am running around like my head is cut off.....

An interesting evening

Well last night was a rather interesting evening. I had gotten a call earlier in the day yesterday from our home group leader and she was wanting to talk to my husband and I. I kind of had a feeling I knew why and was anxious to go and talk with them.

There has been a dispute going on for the last month between me and a friend of mine. There is this unexplainable tension between us and I have tried to contact her so we could resolve it but she would not ever return any of my messages.

So last night while I was at my home group leaders house we decided to call my friend and see if she wanted to come over and talk. My friend did decide to come over and talk. So she came over and we went for a walk. We did not even get to the school before she started yelling and demeaning me. There was nothing I could say. When I started to say something she would accuse me of yelling at her and she would get even move violent. She kept spewing profanity and negativity. After a while I was just in awe as to how much anger and hurt can come spewing out of her mouth. I figured that it would have to stop and we would get to the bottom of what is going on. Well that did not happen, once the spewing stopped she just turned and walked back to the house making fun of me because I was crying because of all the hurtful things that were said.

I sucked it up and went back into the house and then she acted as though there was nothing going on. So I wiped away any of the tears that snuck out of my eyes and went out back to finish visiting with everyone that was there. we did continue to visit, with her totally acting as though I was not there. I had a feeling that my friend and her husband were waiting for me to leave but I was not going to leave until they were gone. After my friend and her husband left I just broke down and cried. I could not keep it in any longer. I let them know exactly what was said. They were kind of shocked because they were under the impression that she had reconciled.

At this point there is nothing that I can do. I have went to her and I have tried to find out what the issue is and she did not tell me. She has decided that she wants to carry the anger around and that is her choice. I feel sorry for her that she feels she has to do that.

Wow what a really nice day it has turned out to be. Last night was really great we spent some really well needed some good ole' fashioned family time. We went to our local Borders book store and we each picked out a good book, took it home and started reading. We need more relaxing time like this.

I am excited to start taking my newer dose of my Byetta I can't wait to see if it will truly help me to loose weight faster and I can't even comprehend feeling better.

Okay, let me tell you a little bit more about myself. I have been diabetic for about two years and it has taken that long to get it under control. I have tried several different types of medications.
To no avail none of them have even put a dent into my numbers. I first tried Metformin, which is what they put most people on, and I started loosing weight because I had diarrhea really bad! I thought that was normal until I had to go the emergency room because my blood sugars got up over 350. I was told that was not normal and my Dr. should change my medicines. I then went to Avadaryl and on that I gained about 30 pounds. I feel a lot if it was water retention. I went in when I heard that Avandia was know to cause heart issues.

Now my Dr. has me on Byetta! I LOVE IT!!!! I have done lots of research and have heard not one bad thing. It is the most awesome thing since sliced bread!!! I have been on it for three weeks and have lost three pounds and I don't know how many inches. I started out on the 5 Pen and in a couple days will go to the 10 pen. This is the first type medication that TRULY helps with appetite. I have tried SEVERAL weight loss plans and each of them the I always felt like ... ok I am going to rip your eyes out if you don't get me more food. Now I am like food makes me sick... :)

I went the other day and I got a tattoo :) I have to say that it is the most amazing thing ever and I would do it again in a heart beat!!!! It did hurt a little but just like some one was pinching my skin and when it was over.... it felt like I have a sun burn on my back. the only thin is .. it is on my back so I can't see it as much as other will but.. oh well this is the first of many :)
